CAMP DIRECTOR

Coach Abbey, a 1993 graduate of St. Augustine Prep, spent nine years coaching at Rowan University prior to being named Head Coach in the winter of 2023. Coach is also a member of the Hermit Athletics Hall of Fame and and a two-time state champion as a player.

Camp Overview:

With four days of intensive training at one of the best high school facilities in the state, our goal is to prepare and improve our participants in the game of soccer. The focus of the camp is to improve the participant's individual skill sets and tactical understanding of the game.

Each day will begin with a speed and agility warm up. These exercises are meant to educate athletes in proper training techniques and prepare their bodies physically. Following the warm up, every day will consist of specific themes wherein athletes will develop and refine their techniques of dribbling, ball control, passing, and shooting. All of these sessions will include activities that strengthen player’s abilities to play in tight spaces, make tactically sound decisions, and improve their overall speed of play.
